What is air? Two little creatures find out. From breathing to whistling to farting. But to whom does air really belong? And can it be caught? Then the previously invisible air suddenly becomes very tangible between them, and it's every man for himself.
AIR is about making something out of nothing and making the world believe it has value. It is a wordless and dancing performance about everything and nothing. Two monstrous creatures try to catch air, to keep it, to cherish it. Until they become attached to it, and themselves become the plaything of the forces of AIR....
- Creator Merel Denie was nominated for the Henriette Hustinx Prize in 2017. With AIR, she is graduating as a Master in Theatre from the Toneelacademie Maastricht.
