Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT 2)
Falling into Shadow by NDT2 consists of three different dance pieces: Walking Mad by Johan Inger, a world premiere by Botis Seva, and Wir Sagen Uns Dunkles by Marco Goecke.
To the rhythm of the increasingly frenetic pace of the music, Walking Mad (2001) takes us through the various phases between madness and violence. With a moving wall in the middle of the stage, Johan Inger illustrates the boundaries we create in our relationships, in our minds, and the fragile barrier between mental health and madness. The piece was originally created for NDT 1 and we look forward to its performance by the dancers of NDT 2.

The expressive new work by Botis Seva, founder of the company Far From The Norm, revolves around the unconscious mind. Seva, a new voice for NDT, works within the domains of hip-hop, physical theater, and contemporary dance, continually reinventing his approach to dance and creativity. His experiments with form, structure, and theatricality result in a complex and emotional movement language.
In the recurring Wir sagen uns Dunkles (2017), associate choreographer Marco Goecke offers a glimpse into the unique world of the studio where choreographer and dancer meet and stories emerge from indescribable energies. The piece exudes a restlessness in which the body surrenders to intoxicating vibrations reminiscent of fluttering butterfly wings, evoking both a sense of discomfort and attraction for the audience.
