- Sweet cake* is for both life -saving and threatening for Gerrie. He has type 1 diabetes and therefore constantly balances on the cord of the right blood sugar levels. He will always have a battle compared to this wonderful but life -shortening snack. Or does that not only apply to people with diabetes?
In his new show he also struggles with the other meaning of "sweet cake". What have we always swallowed as a sweet cake? Or is just everything that we are taught and told? In his third evening -filling show, he talks about how he sees this. In a way that only Gerrie can do this; The hereafter, life and everything in between. A battle that everyone sometimes has to deal with. In the eyes of Gerrie we are all a little diabetic. The one just swallows more sweet cake than the other.
