Spitters, Emma van het verzet
A story that won't let go of the viewer
A theater piece derived from a compelling book about courage, grief and the search for truth.
Spitters is a moving musical theater piece about courage, loss and moral choices during the Second World War. From the perspective of Emma, a young woman on the run, a story unfolds about hidden heroes, betrayal, and the search for justice. In a setting of war and distrust, she – together with her husband Karel – digs for the truth behind disappeared lives and stolen possessions. What starts as a flight grows into a struggle for recognition and memory.
With live music, young and professional players, and a poetic storytelling style, Spitters brings a painfully topical ode to people who continued to search, even when the world was silent.
