Spitters is a moving piece of music theatre about courage, loss and moral choices during the Second World War. Told from the perspective of Emma, a young woman on the run, a story unfolds of hidden heroes, betrayal and the search for justice. Against a backdrop of war and mistrust, she – together with her husband Karel – digs for the truth behind vanished lives and stolen possessions. What begins as an escape grows into a fight for recognition and remembrance.

With live music, young and professional performers and a poetic storytelling style, Spitters is a painfully topical tribute to the people who kept on searching, even when the world fell silent.
