I don't know anymore.
Really not. My navigation is broken.
In the Netherlands I am a Surinamese, in Suriname I am a Dutchman. But where do I belong? Maybe I just have to search on Google Maps: where do I feel at home? Spoiler: no results found.
And then those children of mine ... I try to be a good parent, but sometimes I have no idea what I am doing. Nowadays you have those parenting books, but my children don't seem to have read that book.
Outside on the street it is also a minefield. In the past you could just say "good afternoon" to a stranger, now they look at you as if you just asked them to pick up your towel in the sauna. And social media? There people respond as if they were just bitten by a red ant. You say "I like pancakes" and before you know it you will have the entire anti-gluten community after you.
In my new comedy show "Navigation is broken" I take you into my confusion about identity, parenting and the weird world in which we now live. Come laugh, come crying - but above all, don't come and do angry, because I don't remember either.
Do I see you there?
