Undercurrent Trio & Gerard Kleijn
Professional European jazz of a high level
Undercurrent Trio & Gerard Kleijn present the recently released album 'Cloud Song'. Exciting compositions by four of the best improvisers in the Netherlands offer a showcase of different music styles, moods and compelling stories. The music of Undercurrent Trio & Suzan Veneman offers a wide range of different atmospheres. Melodies from the heart tell a story as the band moves through musical landscapes with different timbres and contrasts. Adventures in musical styles create music in dreamy colors, dark somber grooves or more edgy sounds.
The four musicians explore the fascinating and sometimes compelling compositions by taking a lot of freedom of expression and by creating strong interaction and fierce improvisations. The unusual combination of trumpet, clarinet, bass clarinet, tenor saxophone, guitar and drums offers the listener a fresh sound. The use of musical space is one of the group's strengths.
