Kofferbak Collectief
A cheerful consumer drama to music from Mozart
The plastic party: ladies among each other who marvel at the latest trends in the field of plastic kitchen utensils. Almost every housewife once had to deal with this phenomenon. You organized such a party and received a gift as handy and indestructible. Or you went there because your neighbor had also been to you, and then came home with something unnecessary that you actually did not intend to buy at all: microwave egg shells, freeshoud boxes, miracles with a breathable lid ... objects that will continue to populate our kitchen cupboards for days.
But in today's disposable society there is no room for indestructibility at all. Time seems to have overtaken the iconic plastic kitchen stuff. Every plastic party could suddenly be the last party ... And then? Is there also an end to everything that the plastic party stood for? An end to sustainability? To the economic emancipation of the housewife? Can we still imagine a world without all this kitchen plastic at all?
"Plastic party!" Is a cheerful opera about the end of a socio-cultural ritual. Or not?! Anyway, David Prins wrote the brand new Dutch libretto. And the music? It comes from Mozarts as beautiful and indestructible operas "Così fan tutte", "Don Giovanni" and "Le Nozze di Figaro". It's party time! Come and play now that it is still possible ...
