In "drawn face" a woman is in the silence of her studio, surrounded by sketches, memories and the smell of fresh coffee. In this place, where every sketch and every detail gets meaning, she takes you on a journey through her past.

The studio around her breathes, just like the memories she collects. The wrinkles on her skin, reflect the endless lines she sketches, discovering the power in herself.

Marianne Tolenaar tells her own true story. The direction is in the hands of her granddaughter, up -and -coming theater talent Evy Lasschuit. While Marianne takes you in her search for her own strength, as an audience you get the feeling of sitting at the kitchen table. Intimate and accessible, with a cookie with the coffee.

"Signed face" is a celebration of vulnerability, aging and resilience, of generations who find each other in telling a story. A performance about the lines that draws life in us and how we can color it ourselves.
