Symposium
Symposium “Bergeijk, birthplace of Jan and Hubert van Eyck”
On Saturday, April 5, 2025, Bergeijk Heemkundekring is organizing a one -day symposium on the occasion of the appearance of the revised edition of the book "Bergeijk, birthplace of Jan and Hubert van Eyck". The Ambacht and Culture Foundation offers all participants a copy of the new book. The symposium takes place in the multifesta stable of Theater De Kattendans in Bergeijk. The number of places is limited, so I am quick.
The author of said book, archive forler Dr. Lucas Van Dijck from Rosmalen, is a member of the Bergeijk local history circle. The official presentation of his new book takes place during this symposium, where various historians will speak of name.
Objective
The symposium aims to increase broad social and scientific interest in this discovery, while at the same time attracting the attention of both national and international media. We want to explore the historical significance of Portinc castle in the context of the Flemish primitives and contribute to a deeper understanding of the rich cultural heritage of our region.
