Spot on for a magical afternoon at the theater!

The theme of the Children's Book Week 2026 is 'Spot on'. Around this theme, children discover how stories come to life, not only in books, but also on stage. That is why Bergeijk Library and the Kattendans are jointly organizing an afternoon full of theater and fun for children from 6 to 12 years old. Have you always wanted to know what happens behind the scenes of a theater? And would you like to be on a real stage yourself? Then you shouldn't miss this special Children's Book Week activity!

The library first takes you into the wonderful world of books, stories and fantasy and explains Children's Book Week. The Kattendans theater doors then open for a behind-the-scenes tour. Only today the children can take a look at places where the public does not normally go and discover what is involved in staging a theater performance. Where do actors prepare? How do light and sound work? And what happens before the curtain opens?

After this, it is the kids' turn to be in the spotlight themselves. During an interactive musical workshop by Me On Stage, children experience how much fun it is to sing, play and move on a real theater stage. Maybe you will discover a real theater star within yourself!

In short: a creative Wednesday afternoon in which reading, fantasy and theater come together! Make sure you secure a spot quickly, because there is only room for 30 children. Tickets are free, but you must order them via the library's website. Order here a ticket.

The activity is exclusively for children, not for parents.
