Domestic violence is in the spotlight more than ever. According to recent CBS (Statistics Netherlands) figures, more than 870,000 people in the Netherlands are victims of psychological and physical violence in the home.
Cat Smits Company combines this urgent subject with the poetic power of puppetry in a dynamic mosaic narrative. The show is based on the experiences of survivors: victims, their children and perpetrators.
The actors and puppets portray different stories and perspectives, building a complete picture of the circumstances that cause boundaries to shift day by day. Until fear becomes the new normal.
