The normally very confident Alice gets lost among lakes of tears and rose gardens. One moment she is minuscule and the next she is meters high. No matter how well she thinks she knows, she can't keep up with the panicking rabbit, the disapproving caterpillar and the headless cat. To make matters worse, there is a pushy alter-ego who challenges and contradicts her until Alice's head spins. The further she goes, the less she understands herself. Is she still the real Alice? Does it actually exist? In a whirlwind journey through a bizarre world, Alice searches for her own beat.

After the hit Giselle (proclaimed by Het Parool as the family show of 2024) and The Hot Peaches, Toneelmakerij and DOX are once again joining forces. This time in a dream-like coming-of-age about letting go of what you already know, finding your voice and the power of not knowing. Or as the Hatter says: We're all mad here!
