It had to happen: a performance about the deer that started it all. The most famous children's film of all time depicts an idyllic forest full of talking animals, friendship and romance. But beneath that lovely surface lies another story.

In the original book from 1923, nature is cruel and indifferent. Surviving means learning to trust yourself. Bambie plays Bambicontrasts these two worlds and investigates what remains when romance disappears.

Iconic scenes are given a new, physical translation: the birth, the slipping on the ice, the death of the mother, the hormonal discovery of love. The forest becomes a home where natural elements intrude and human figures show animal urges. And what life lessons are needed to mature in these times.
