Big Pharma – Het Nationale Theater

Big Pharma - Het Nationale Theater

Theater en toneel

The CEO of a major pharmaceutical company is under threat. After a failed assassination attempt, the guilt seems clear: the perpetrator was incited by an online channel that spreads conspiracies about the company. In a fit of anger, the CEO decides to visit the creators of the online channel at home. A confrontation follows full of misunderstanding, old hurt and revenge.

A small group of pharmaceutical companies has a major influence on our healthcare and therefore our daily lives. Their medicines save lives, but also generate enormous profits for entrepreneurs and shareholders. How unfair is that system?

Conspiracy theorists see Big Pharma as part of a larger problem: our world is ruled by powerful, invisible forces. What happens when representatives from these worlds meet?

The director about Big Pharma
“If you immerse yourself in the world of conspiracy theories, you end up in a dark hall of mirrors in which nothing is what it seems. Conspiracy theorists' facts are usually wrong, but their instincts sometimes are - although they are often paranoid. Conspiracy theorists expose how, more often than we would like to admit, we are insufficiently critical of the systems around us.” (Eric de Vroedt)
