Bram - Kompagnie Kistemaker
The Eindhoven Maria Croonen (1934 - 1998) changes her life from a housewife and dental assistant and becomes autodidact visual artist. Mother Maria slowly transforms into artist Bram. Brammetje Cox lives for art, but at the same time is a single mother with four children. A mother who was far ahead of her time, wanted more than the household. And did she want motherhood at all? Judging from outside is flying her ears, "it's not fluff at number 28" "It is haunting ..." "That person should not call himself a mother". And what should she suddenly do with that lost son who stands on the sidewalk?
In audio performance bram everyday objects, a coffee grinder, a roll of tape, cleaning gloves, Bram's mysterious terraced house. A vegetable haker sounds like a squeaky garden fence, a celery is a creaking back and sounding wine glasses are the doorbell. You are free at any time to close your eyes and imagine yourself in Woensel.
After a great success in Oerol, Bram now goes into the theater hall. A wonderful story of mythical proportions. Was Bram a progressive feminist, a uncompromising artist or a heartless mother? Theater maker Karlijn Kistemaker dives together with actor Rop Verheijen ( De Luizenmother, who is the mole?) deep into this Brabant family story and are becoming increasingly entangled in a web of opinions and stories. And cassette tapes. Many cassette tapes.
bram in the media
"Bram is a performance that gets more and more depth, especially if the emotions and personal experiences of the actors sneak into the piece." In this outdoor podcast, Daniel and Karlijn unravel the mystery around Daniels unknown grandpa.
Podcastmaker Serin Utlu interweaves this with his own experiences about motherhood and zooms in to the tension between parenting and artistry.
