With the annual recurring "Club Invites", we ask dance makers with whom we feel related, to make new work. In this fourth edition: a Double Bill (two performances on one evening) with Barnaby Booth and Lunatics & Poets.
Lunatics & Poets |Instinctive desires that are anchored in man, but also desires arising from society that influence us. In our search for individuality, we seem to look more alike. Inspired by the bundle "A Village Life" by Louise Glück and theories of philosopher René Girard, Anna Jacobs and Hanna van der Meer put down a cinematic portrait in sensitive and extremely strong dance about the tension between animal instincts and human individuality. Anna Jacobs and Hanna van der Meer are known for their impressive decor and costume designs and their cinematic visual language. For Club Invites 2022-23, they previously created the poetic collage performance Postcards from a Better Place.
