The Hague, the Tower. Confidence in politics has fallen to a historic low for some time now and the Netherlands has fallen dangerously low in the world happiness index. The new Prime Minister, together with her spin doctor, is considering a plan to regain trust. A Ministry of Confidence has even been created.

Then the State Secretary storms in. The whole of the Netherlands is on its way to the Hofstad. Outside, a swirling crowd is rattling the gates of the Binnenhof. Any form of repression is a fire in the pan, so what remains is the ultimate speech.

While an increasing mass of angry citizens threatens to storm the Binnenhof, a small team under high pressure tries to find the right words to save the country.

THE STORMING is an exciting and comic Binnenhof drama, inspired by recent political and social developments at home and abroad. The power of the word is central. How does what we say influence what we do and think? At best, words can inspire, at worst they can inflame. But what do you do when words fail.
