From the theatrical and playful Tagadà by Sofia Nappi and the cheerfully energetic Flabbergast by Gustavo Ramírez Sansano to two brand-new pieces by Andonis Foniadakis and Aristide Rontini. A dynamic evening of dance that leaves the audience fully recharged.

Sofia Nappi – Tagadà | 2023
After the tender and funny duet Kemet that Sofia Nappi created for HubClub’23, Introdans is once again working with this fascinating choreographer. In 2021 Sofia Nappi received the Introdans Partner Award at the RIDCC. “That’s where it began. Her work is highly distinctive and theatrical; it communicates so well,” says Roel Voorintholt. This season Introdans presents her successful group creation Tagadà, set to music by Daft Punk, among others. Nappi uses the Italian fairground ride tagadà as a metaphor for life. Sometimes we just go round in circles without any control. We balance between uncertainty, fear, joy and euphoria. Amid life’s unpredictability, our connection with the people around us is something to hold on to.

Andonis Foniadakis - Pulsetic | 2026
Andonis Foniadakis’s choreography Selon désir was one of the audience favourites from Introdans’s 2023 BACH programme. Now Foniadakis is back with a new creation made especially for the Introdans ensemble. Extreme suppleness and exuberant energy are the constants in his work. Foniadakis lets the dancers shine at full strength – lively and infectious.

Aristide Rontini – Skin in between | 2026
Inclusive creating and thinking are fundamental for Aristide Rontini. This Italian choreographer has his own company that puts accessibility and every kind of bodily reality centre stage. Rontini knows from his own experience (his arms are differently proportioned) how important it is to set a new standard in dance and beyond. Themes in his work include identity, the relationship between the individual and the community, and between nature and culture. In 2023 Rontini was one of the choreographers of HubClub’23. At the invitation of Roel Voorintholt, Rontini is making a new creation for ENERGY. “We’re looking forward to seeing what emerges. It certainly won’t be anything obvious,” says Roel Voorintholt.

Gustavo Ramírez Sansano – Flabbergast | 2002
Celebrated choreographer Gustavo Ramírez Sansano – known for his contemporary version of Carmen – made a big splash with Flabbergast. In this astonishing choreography, Sansano embraces his Spanish roots. Artistic director Roel Voorintholt loves the lightness and wink of Flabbergast. Flabbergast is expressive and musical. The dancers draw you into the atmosphere of the sixties and seventies, dancing to the rhythm of Latin American music. They explore their desires, their identities and, above all, each other.
