Inspired by fairy tales, comic strips and his Surinamese background, choreographer Remy Tilburg creates a powerful, visually striking show in which dancers transform into mythical flamingo figures. In doing so, the show touches on themes such as evolution, freedom and identity, while our relationship with fragile nature also shines through.

For many years Tilburg was one of the defining dancers of Conny Janssen Danst. In 2024 he launched his own company: IID Company. Flamingo is the follow-up to the short piece of the same name that Tilburg created in 2024 for the German Ballett Theater Trier. “Captivating images of almost Old Master-like beauty and at times symphonic quality.” (Trierischer Volksfreund)
