Musical & Show

foxtrot takes place in the turbulent 1930s. A time of careless pleasure but also of worries for war threat and an economic crisis. The story starts when the naive Josien leaves the province and ends up in an artist boarding in Amsterdam. There she meets Jules and Lisette: Revuesterren in a nightclub on bustling Rembrandtplein. Pension keeper Mathilde lets Jules and Lisette present themselves as a German and opera singer teacher. Josien receives lessons from Jules and soon falls in love with him, but he cannot answer that love. If Paul - the secret love of Jules - then shares the bed together with Josien, this results in a pregnancy and making impossible choices.    The now 80-year-old Gerrie van der Klei can be seen again in the musical after 49 years. Alternately with Marjolijn Rouw she plays pensioner Mathilde. Her role from then is now being played by Renée de Gruijl. William Spaaij plays the demanding male lead and takes over from Willem Nijholt and Paul de Leeuw. The young talent Teuntje Post follows in the footsteps of Carice van Houten with the role of Josien.
