Six dancers and six musicians form a single breathing body that moves, chafes and resonates. Dance and music circle around what was once full of spirit but now feels empty. The music moves between new compositions and influences from the musical heritage stretching from Granada to Baghdad, with percussion, oud and violin among the leading voices. In the intuitive movement language, hip hop and contemporary dance merge into one recognisable, hybrid form. The result is a shared language in which sound becomes movement and movement becomes rhythm.

Ghosts weaves body, music and memory into a living ritual. The audience witnesses a search for spirit – for what lies dormant beneath the surface and refuses to disappear. From whisper to eruption, dancers and musicians seek what lies hidden behind rituals that have lost their origins, and in doing so create new meanings. For our rituals hold our cultural memory; they carry the roots of who we are.
