The young Hamlet mourns his deceased father. There seems to be no room for that in his immediate area. His mother remarries quickly, with her husband's brother. Denying Hamlet's sorrow touches him in his deepest being. As if reality sinks under his feet. He becomes entangled in his thoughts and questions everything and everyone around him. He promises one thing - whatever the consequences - he will not forget his father.

The Shakespeare classic Hamlet has been edited into a concise family drama, in which the lonely and growing Hamlet centralThe piece is played by Hannah Hoekstra, Jacob Derwig and Roman Derwig. The last two are also father and son in real life. 

This hamlet is therefore also a mirror palace: a piece in a piece that, through the story of the Danish prince, questions such as appearance and reality, finiteness and the process of letting go. Hamlet should not only accept the death of his father, but also his own mortality.
