In The process , together with Josef K., we get deeper and deeper in Kafka's confusing world. The logic is crumbling, the answers slip away like a word on the tip of your tongue - just out of reach. The show is more than the story of Josef K.;We want cause and effect, hold and structure. But what if the world doesn't care? What if actually understanding always escapes us?

With her third performance at Toneelschuur Producties, director Jessie L’Herminalez remains faithful to her fascination for classical repertoire and existential issues. Together with actor and writer Vincent van der Valk, she made a radical, tragicomic adaptation of Kafka's masterpiece. As a spectator you will be sucked into an oppressive journey to salvation.

"The process touches something universal: the despair and powerlessness that we feel when we are confronted with forces that are beyond our understanding. Whether these forces are metaphysical, political, psychological, biological, or something else. For me, the process is a playful invitation to surrender to the immense world created by language. And the even larger inexplicable dimension that hides behind it.
