I Like Art and Art Likes Me - Het Zuidelijk Toneel

What do you mean those two!? Because art might save the world after all... Joseph Beuys created a furore in the arts after the Second World War. He believed that every person was an artist and could change the world through art. That's why he wanted to admit everyone to his classes at the art academy.

Did Adolf Hitler, aspiring painter who was twice rejected from art school, become a dictator? As Nazi leader, Hitler focused heavily on art as a propaganda tool and labeled all art that did not express the Nazi ideal as 'degenerate'. In addition to being an artist, Beuys was also a political activist and co-founded the German Greens. In I Like Art and Art Likes Meart is pulled from its safe sanctuary and used to wage an ideological war.

Silke van Kamp is a sucker for rewriting stories. She made a splash last year with F*CK LOLITA for which writer Annet Bremen rewrote the story of Nabokov's iconic novel heroine Lolita with her. Now she organizes a fictional meeting that could have changed the course of history if it had happened!
