Je Moeder - DIEHELEDING
The young Park dreams of becoming a rapper. Two problems: the hip-hop world is dominantly male and his mother is more successful than him. Park is the son of a radical, feminist musician named Marga.
As a spoken word artist, Marga set a long feminist pamphlet to music and subsequently became a cult figure. All kinds of radical feminist groups see her as a great example. In a roundabout way she was able to have a child. Park tries to reconcile his radical upbringing with his own manhood, his sexual desires and his desire to be a rapper.
The media about Your Mother
"Merel Pauw plays mother Marga with an exasperated drive.
Already in the first scene she bluntly addresses the audience as victims and perpetrators.
Dalorim Wartes plays son Park with a searching, young energy.
Steven Ivo plays transgender best friend Roberta as fiercely caring and intensely loyal.
He opens with a tragicomic ballad about conception.
And the wonderful Julie Mughunda is the love of Park's life, Helen, and a handful of other strikingly portrayed characters who pass by in that life." (Theaterkrant)
"Visitating performance 'Your mother' reflects with great humor on feminism, perpetrators and victims." (NRC ★★★★)
