InKakek, Grandpa & Menovi travels through the hidden stories of her family. Through photo books, letters and forgotten melodies, she delves into the past. What begins as a playful journey of discovery grows into a magical journey through her family history and a shared colonial past of the Netherlands and Indonesia that still works in the present.

Along the way, Novi discovers that the anger she feels may be older than herself. That emotions can travel from generation to generation. And understanding that sometimes starts with looking, listening and feeling.
