Yet Shapiro also dares to take a positive view of the US. He predicts that Trump’s tyrannical behaviour won’t last long – provided Europe stays strong. Mark Rutte calls Trump ‘Daddy,’ but Ursula says: “Mummy is cross”. If the Epstein files prove anything, it’s that certain world leaders are attracted to anything but strong, grown-up women.

The American Netherlander Greg Shapiro also prepares Dutch audiences for the American midterm elections in November 2026 – if they even go ahead this time. And since Shapiro is known for his Trump impressions, he wonders whether he will ever be allowed back into his country of birth. Or will ICE make him disappear?

KING ME is a mix of stand-up comedy and storytelling, with another dash of Trump-inspired improvisation. It is Shapiro's ninth solo show.

Greg Shapiro has been part of Boom Chicago Theater in Amsterdam since 1994. He presented Comedy Central News on Comedy Central Netherlands and has appeared on BNR, BNN-VARA, VPRO and ZDF (Germany). And yes, he is known as the voice of Trump in the viral video The Netherlands Second, which has been viewed more than 50 million times. Greg has written books including How to Be Dutch: the Quiz and The American Netherlander: 25 Years of Expat Tales.
