The Story
The town of Hamelin is ravaged by a plague of rats, until a mysterious Pied Piper comes along.
In exchange for a pot of gold, he promises to drive away the rats.
He keeps this promise, but the mayor refuses to reward him as agreed.
In revenge, the Pied Piper whistles away not only the vermin, but also a group of children from Hamelin and, unintentionally, a number of adults, including Lidwientje, the mayor's daughter.
While sleepwalking, they enter Bergkei, a magical world with dwarfs and fairies, witches and trolls, where nothing is as it really seems.
Yet the children desperately want to return to their own familiar Hamelin.
But how will they ever find their way back?
The musical Can you tell me the way to Hamelin, sir? is based on the beloved KRO television series from the 1970s with well-known names such as Rob de Nijs and Loekie Knol in the leading roles. Together with our live orchestra, we create a fantastic evening out for the whole family with this performance!
