Nergens - Schippers & Van Gucht
Is there such a thing as an experience you cannot share? A feeling that words can’t quite reach? And if so, what does that do to us? NERGENS takes place on the border between reality and imagination. As a visitor, you find yourself in the middle of a panorama. In this world you follow four characters, each dealing in their own way with a lack of connection. The space closes around you in four parts, so that the different perspectives of these people come together as a whole.
The story is structured like a palindrome, like a word you can read in both directions. Literally, palin means ‘again’ and dromos means ‘running’. In NERGENS the characters move between memory and dream, between changing and staying. Time and again they end up at the same point: an in-between space in which absence becomes visible.
NERGENS is an invitation to reflect on what connects us and what you miss when contact is lacking.
