OEDIPUStells the story of Oedipus, king of Thebes, who desperately tries to discover the cause of a deadly plague ravaging his city. When an oracle reveals that the disaster will only end when the murderer of the previous king is found, Oedipus does everything he can to uncover the truth. During his investigation, the clues pile up. What starts as a search for justice slowly turns into a confrontational journey into his own past. Each discovery brings him closer to a truth he would rather not face.

Studio Antigone will play OEDIPUS as the breathtaking thriller that it is. With of course the language of Sophocles, who has easily survived his 2500 years, as the radiant center.

Just like in classical performances, the choirs are sung, accompanied by authentic music from the 5th century BC. OEDIPUS is a performance about truth and power, and about how a person reacts when the truth is not pleasing.
