Gabriela Carrizo: The missing door
Set in an ominous domestic space that slowly warps, the boundaries between reality and illusion blur. Everyday actions turn into oppressive situations, as the emotional cracks in the characters grow ever wider. Carrizo explains: “The work shows a no man’s land where reality and fantasy become increasingly entangled. A place where the last minutes of a life become visible, suspended between life and death.”

The missing door explores themes such as isolation, fear, uncertainty and mental struggles. The show contains stylised conflict situations, surreal scenes and a dark, intense atmosphere. Some scenes may be experienced as tense or emotionally heavy, especially by younger or sensitive audience members. The show also contains a brief bright light effect.

Hofesh Shechter’s new work also contains intense or overwhelming moments, particularly for younger or sensitive audience members. The show uses loud music, brief moments of darkness, and smoke and haze effects. All sound levels remain within the applicable standards.

Hofesh Shechter: Tunnel Vision
After the successful 2024 revival of audience favourite Clowns (2016), choreographer Hofesh Shechter returns for a raw and daring world premiere. Shechter is known for works that lay bare what lurks beneath the surface, both in ourselves and in the world around us. The friction between identity and the way we perceive our mind and our body is often a common thread. In his new work for NDT 1, dreamlike scenes unfold alongside sudden fragments of reality, as the dancers push their physical limits. “Your mind is a flickering light that has forgotten its source, where thoughts collide and contradict each other,” says Shechter. Grand yet intimate, full of intense physical abandon and pulsating music, this work promises to be a surreal journey that sweeps you away completely.
