characters is a search for what happens when fantasy and reality begin to be mixed up. What stories give us guidance in the world? And what happens if the stories fully take over reality? For example, if you become blind and can no longer see the world. A search in game for the meaning of stories, memories, time and fantasy in a world that is becoming faster and more actual.

Characters is a collaboration between De AcherdeBerg Academy, Visio Education Amsterdam and the band El Mo Collective. The show is played by a diverse group of good -looking, visually impaired and blind players. The piece is inspired by the personal stories of the players, six characters looking for a writer of L. Pirandello and Doctor Bernhardi to A. Schnitzler.

During the performance characters , live audio description is possible. Audio description, also called "image description" or "audio description", is a way to make art forms such as theater accessible to visually impaired and blind people.
