Tessa is a smart and ruthless criminal lawyer who specializes in sex offenses. She has managed to separate herself from her working -class environment and is now surrounded by old money and the privileged elite. Judiciary is a sport for her. She thinks that compared to her male colleagues, she is taking the victims of sexual abuse in a neat way. In this way she keeps suspects out of prison by sowing precisely enough and always to get "the legal truth" to the table. Until the roles irrevocably turn: an unexpected event confronts her with the tense relationship between the patriarchal power of the law, the burden of proof and morality.
