ROUGE - Isabelle Beernaert
With ROUGE a physical and poetic journey unfolds in which the body carries memory and energy. Dancers move on the edge between control and surrender, between explosion and stillness. What arises from tension or fury is transformed into pure power.
The colour red is the beating heart of the show. It stands for blood, heartbeat and fire; the life force that flows through every body. In ROUGE that energy becomes visible, audible and tangible, connecting audience and performers in a shared experience.
With her distinctive signature – intense, poetic and deeply human – Isabelle Beernaert once again invites the audience to an experience that goes beyond simply watching.
