Sensing Bodies - SHIFFT & SoulCypher
Pushing Waves
How can a person, closed off from the outside world, again discover who he is?
In Pushing Waves , choreographer Jasper van Luijk investigates the world of isolation and imagination.
Fully thrown back in itself, a man wanders to his deepest thoughts.
Full of dedication, he tries to hold on to memories, while the world around him is slowly crumbling.
What do you hold on if everything is quiet?
Solodanser Oscar Magnusson directly influences the musical composition that sound artist Tom van Wee is creating at the time with his movements and body. A sigh is converted into a cool breeze, a scream is the noise of a radio and a bouncing beat transforms into a pounding foot. In Pushing Waves let's speak the body even when it is deafening quiet.
Transcendance
In Transcendance by choreographer Ruben Chi and artist Bob Sizoo days dance and artificial intelligence.
Dancer Ibrah Silas Jackson dances with a digital version of himself optimized by AI.
A version that moves freely, beyond the physical and mental limitations of humans.
A interplay unfolds in which the essence of natural growth and evolution is questioned.
Transcendance invites reflection: How can we get closer to our deepest self, through the lens of technology?
