Choreographer Stijn Celis created a contemporary adaptation of Swan Lake for the whole family. Following its successful tour a few years ago, Introdans is bringing this world-famous classic back to the stage in a fresh, modern version. The dance language is powerful and expressive, with room for poetry, grotesque humour and a rich world of imagination.

This adaptation centres on the strained relationship between Prince Siegfried and his domineering mother, the Queen. Siegfried’s longing to escape the clutches of the monarchy gives the story extra depth. Themes such as the awakening of the senses and finding your own path make the show relatable and captivating, for young audiences too.

Swan Lake is a large-scale spectacle in which the entire Introdans ensemble shines. Impressive sets and theatrical flourishes strengthen the story, carried by Tchaikovsky’s timeless and moving music. The result is a fascinating journey without a dull moment.
