Robrecht looks at his love. There she sits, headphones on, thumb on the screen, probably looking for baby things. She wants a child. They are about to embark on that adventure. The last strip of pills is out of the packet, the hormones are finding their rhythm, life is ready for the next step. Just as it should be.

Apart from his receding hairline, everything seems fine for Robrecht. He has a job, a girlfriend, a life that runs smoothly. And yet there is this unease. The world around him is racing. War, climate, people gone off the rails.

And then there’s that other doubt: love itself. He falls in love so easily. What if he can’t keep it up? What if, right in the middle of the storm, he no longer knows how to stay on his feet? The future sways like a drunkard.

Will he throw everything overboard tonight?
