In the near future, The Nether exists: a virtual world without borders. People here adopt alternative identities and live out fantasies that are undiscussable in real life. Without judgement. Without consequences. When a young detective starts investigating this advanced AI environment, she quickly wonders how innocent The Nether really is. Because if nothing is real, then there is no morality?

As the line between fantasy and reality becomes increasingly blurred, the characters move on a sliding scale between self-control and derailment. Does virtually living out our deepest desires bring us freedom? Or does this virtual world have unexpected consequences? The Nether is an oppressive thriller that does not tell us what to think, but forces us to sense where our limits lie.
