The Pale Blue Dot - Heintz & Kop | PLAN Brabant
You are taken on a manually conjured space journey for which you do not have to leave your seat.
The audience sits around a mechanical table, inspired by the Eise Eisinga Planetarium, where models and live projections together form an increasingly zooming world.
Wordless and traditional, a sensory journey unfolds from street to city, from earth to an ever-expanding perspective.
The performance is not a reconstruction, but a playful imagination of the universe, evoked with everyday materials: cardboard, mirrors, a hand winch, flashlights, and perhaps even a ping-pong ball.
Just like Eise Eisinga, who built a planetarium in his own living room to get a grip on the unrest in the world, Heintz & Kop make a space journey as a gesture of wonder and tranquility, a human attempt to experience our place in the endless universe around us.

The media about The Pale Blue Dot
“A fantastic play of light and shadow, dreamy, fascinating and elusive.
As you zoom out further and further, the realization grows: how small we are.” (NPO Klassiek)
