The Netherlands invests billions in defence, further expands its own arms industry and sells weapons all over the world. At the same time, we face war, genocide and increasing geopolitical tensions on a daily basis. The question of what safety costs is more urgent than ever.
In Weapons, the great geopolitical reality literally enters the living room: an immersive and intimate story, propelled by an unpredictable musical presence. A sensitive performance about love, safety and the price of protection.

Firma Mes and Nic Bruckman Projects delved into the Dutch defence industry and international arms trade for this performance. Among other things, the makers visited the largest arms fair in Europe and spoke to people working in and around the arms industry.

With Theo d'Ornominees Nadia Amin and Roos Eijmers, a new play by Nic Bruckman, directed by Thomas Schoots.
