In We are family after all the Polman family goes on a family weekend to the Veluwe for the first time in years. Daughter Hannah (Renée de Gruijl) has big news to share, while father Evert hopes to restore ties with his ex Marjan and their children - Hannah and Pieter (Martijn Kardol). But Marjan does not arrive alone: her new partner Jan Dirk (Bart van Veldhoven), a hyper-enthusiastic life coach and sauna master, joins. Between shuffleboard, house rules and infusion sessions, they desperately try to keep things fun. How long will that work, if old patterns and unspoken truths present themselves?

We are family after all is the current, humorous and recognizable musical comedy by writing talent Maarten Hopman, known for De Speld and Even tot hier. This musical is a hybrid of cabaret and musical, combining the current and socially critical of cabaret with the grand and compelling of musical.
