Another kind of blue
The show opens with HandsOn, a captivating work presented in several versions, including a special collaboration with choreographer Daniel Barkan. Arms also makes an appearance: a hypnotic duet between dancers and drones. A technological tour de force that takes off, literally and figuratively. At some theatres an extra dimension is added with a live VR experience, in which the line between stage and digital universe blurs completely. Audience favourites such as Flyland, known from America’s Got Talent, can also be seen, as well as the surprising new work The Search, starring an electric unicycle.
With Silent Gestures, choreographer David Middendorp continues to connect dance and technology in a way that moves, surprises and amazes.
