Story
Rotterdam, just after the First World War.
Dirk and Louis are born a year apart.
They grow up in a loving home.
The brothers become best friends and nothing seems able to break their bond.
Until the inevitable happens: the Second World War breaks out, leaving its mark on every living room, in every family.
Including the family of Dirk and Louis...
Concept
The show consists of spectacular scenes with plenty of special effects. The audience will be moved by music and gripping images that will grab them by the throat. 40-45 uses a unique technical concept with moving stands and sound through individual headphones. This ensures the audience is drawn into the story in a unique way. To house this grand concept, the venue in the Midden Nederland Hallen in Barneveld is being fully adapted for the show. In every respect, 40-45, de musical will be an exceptional production.
Please note: The show lasts 2 hours and 15 minutes and has no interval. It is also not possible to leave the auditorium at any moment, as the seating stand rotates with the action.
The package includes:
- Admission ticket to the musical.
- Door-to-door coach trip. Departure and return at De Schalm.
- Packed lunch with a sandwich, wrap, orange juice, water, biscuit and fruit.
- On the way back, the following drinks are available on the coach: Spa Blauw, Coca Cola, Fanta, Ice Tea Green, beer, red and white wine.
Food and drinks at the Midden Nederland Hallen are at your own expense.

- 12:30 Assemble at Theater de Schalm
- 12:45 Coach departs
- 14:30 Arrival at Midden Nederland Hallen
- 15:30 Show starts
- 17:45 Show ends
- 18:15 Departure for De Schalm
- 20:00 Arrival at Theater de Schalm
Tickets cannot be returned after 17 August. This is due to the payment arrangements with the theatre in Barneveld.
