The Little Mermaid is allowed to swim to the surface on her 18th birthday to view the world from above. She falls in love with the beautiful prince. If she wants to marry him, the Sea Witch presents her with an impossible choice. She can give the Mermaid legs, but then she will lose her voice forever.
