De verbouwing

Following the success of Nieuwe Buren, the makers are once again bringing a gripping thriller by bestselling author Saskia Noort to Dutch theatres. In De Verbouwing, leading actors Isa Hoes and Edwin Jonker shine in the lead roles.

Isa Hoes slips into the skin of plastic surgeon Mathilde. Together with her husband Rogier and their daughter, she seems to lead the perfect life. But behind that façade, everything is crumbling. While Mathilde opens her brand-new, ultra-modern private clinic, her own home lies in ruins thanks to a renovation that has gone completely off the rails. Rogier is struggling with burnout, and their daughter escapes the chaos by retreating to the summer house.

When Mathilde is forced to accept help from her dubious ex Johan, she finds herself caught up in a dangerous game with no way out. Slowly but surely, she becomes entangled in a suffocating web of deception, lies and betrayal…

Edwin Jonker, who also appeared in Nieuwe Buren, plays both Rogier, the husband plagued by burnout, and the charismatic but untrustworthy Johan. The role of the daughter is played by young talent Jenell Tedjai.

De Verbouwing continues the collaboration between author Saskia Noort and producer Senf Producties that began with Nieuwe Buren. In the coming years, they will join forces to bring Saskia Noort’s books to the stage. Saskia Noort on the collaboration: "I’m incredibly proud of this collaboration with Senf Producties and I have every confidence that Senf will do justice to my books. Our previous experience working together and the success of the play Nieuwe Buren have given me that confidence
