The impressive book The entire village knew it gets a sequel in the theater. The book published by "De Correspondent" tells the story of Lenneke who is sexually abused by her grandfather. Everyone knows it, but it remains inaccessible.

Moving acted scenes from the book are interspersed with short video fragments by author Rinke Verkerk in the show. The conversation with the audience is guided live by presenter and interviewer Marleen Stelling, who discusses sensitive questions in a vulnerable manner, without being coercive. How is it possible that bystanders remain silent in the face of abuse and what is the impact of this on victims? Doesn't say that you are jointly responsible? And what can you do?

The whole village knew it is a penetrating and dialogical theater experience that makes the painful topicality of abuse and silence tangible. A performance about taking responsibility, courage and the search for change.
