Die Master is Jan-Willem Rozenboom (1974), known for 30 years in daily life as the pianist and composer of singer Guus Meeuwis. Together with him he wrote many hits, including when I saw you, Brabant and Laughs. Less known was that Rozenboom is also one of the most talented classic pianists in the Netherlands. In 2003 he completed the master's program of the legendary Rian de Waal to the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.

Since then, Roseboom has qualified, in addition to his career in pop music, for eleven years in the Goldberg variations - a company that only few pianists venture. Because playing Bach's masterpiece requires great technology, virtuosity and musicality. Jan-Willem Rozenboom proves to a large extent about all three of these properties.

The variations were recorded in 2014. Now, ten years later, this composition is back on the program and they have matured due to the (incubation) time. Rozenboom is now even better able to make the beauty of this work heard.
