Literair Café Veldhoven: Lize Spit

On Sunday, June 8, Lize Spit is a guest at Literair Café Veldhoven. In Museum 't Oude Slot she is interviewed by Mark van der Linden, program maker of the Veldhoven Library. Of course there is room for questions from the audience. Bruna Veldhoven is present with a nice selection of books that can buy visitors and have it signed.

About Lize Spit
Lize Spit (Viersel, 1988) debuted in 2016 with the novel Het Melt, an impressive, raw novel about growing up, trauma and retribution. The novel was a great success with more than 250,000 copies sold, countless prices and nominations, a film adaptation and translations in sixteen countries.

In 2020, Lizes followed second - according to Dagblad NRC "unable" novel: I am not there. Her most recent novel is autobiography of my body (2024). In this she looks back on her childhood, the sometimes difficult bond with her mother and the still complicated relationship she maintains with her own body.

In addition to being a novelist and poet, Lize Spit is a guest teacher creative writing and columnist at the Flemish Dagblad De Morgen. She is married to the Dutch writer Rob van Essen and lives Brussels.
Practical information
Literary Café Veldhoven with Lize Spit is on Sunday 8 June from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Museum 't Oude Slot in Veldhoven. Tickets cost € 12.50 (regular) or € 10 (library members) and are available at the Kassa and via the website of Theater de Schalm.
