Love for Bacharach
As a teenager, Mats became fascinated by the music of Burt Bacharach. During his studies at the Conservatory in Tilburg, Bacharach remained an important source of inspiration, although he did not venture his work until that time. He thought he wasn't ready yet. Now he is. According to him, Bacharach's oeuvre offers a rich musical palette. After Bacharach's death, Mats successfully brought this repertoire to various stages and in January 2025 he released his debut EP here I am, filled with his favorite Bacharach Songs. He chose to mention them alone with keys, so that the songs could be reduced to their essence.

Mats: "My parents had an LP that was close to you from The Carpenters. So I think the love for Bacharach has already started. A house is also not a home I have turned gray. Bacharachs repertoire is laminated and very interesting. Jazz, soul, classic and rock influences you all hear in it, unique melodies and rhythm changes. The songs he wrote with Elvis Costello are also among my favorites. This music deserves to continue to be played and that never bores! "
