MusicFest
Morning program (10.30-12.15 hours):
In 1871 the first Harmonieorkest van Veldhoven in Zeelst: L’Union Fraternelle. The Veldhovens Muziekkorps (1894), Harmonie St Cecilia (1907) in Oerle and Harmonie Sub Umbra (1934) in Meerveldhoven followed later. The four orchestras have as an important spearhead to inspire and encourage youth to make music and for this concert the student and training orchestras are merged to form one large Veldhovens training orchestra. The orchestra that plays under the name "Future in Harmony" is this time led by Tobias van Dongen.
Het Hee Doede Mee Orkest van het Veldhovens Muziekkorps started in January 2023 with musicians who have never played an instrument and musicians who have resumed their hobby again. The orchestra wants to show and hear itself during this edition of City in Harmony. If afterwards you are interested in tackling your music hobby (again), please contact the VMK for more information.
The last one is on the program a performance by the youth stroke working group of the Veldhovens Muziekkorps. This percussion group is led by Paul van Lokven, who also provides the music lessons for the percussionists via 'Beat It Music Education'. He always knows the young people to inspire again by converting well -known melodies into beautiful percussion versions where they use an extensive instruments, from drums and percussion to melodic percussion.
